Valerie moved to Suffolk in 1990 from London via Chelmsford. She was a primary school teacher for over thirty years but is now happily retired.
Valerie and her husband worship at the Cathedral and also at their parish church of St John’s. They take an active part in the lives of both churches.
Having the opportunity to become a governor at St Edmundsbury school gave Valerie the chance to be involved in school again but this time not at the ‘chalk-face’. She enjoys helping regularly in classrooms as well as fulfilling her role as a governor.
In her spare time, Valerie is a flower arranger and enjoys reading historical fiction.
