Administration Assistant

 

Reporting to the School Business Manager

 

Job Purpose:  To provide clerical and administrative assistance to the school
This job description sets out the major duties associated with post. It is assumed that other duties of a similar level/nature undertaken within the section are not excluded because they are not itemised and the postholder may be required to carry out appropriate duties within the context of the job, skills and grade.

 

Duties:

Telephone/Reception/Clerical

  • To take responsibility for ensuring that the Reception area of the school is kept tidy and presentable at all times.
  • To contribute to a welcoming, friendly, and professional office environment, providing a first point of contact for visitors.
  • To respond to parents’ enquiries and requests.
  • To arrange for the collection of sick and injured pupils.
  • To make and receive telephone calls and answer queries where possible.
  • To assist with the preparation of documents/letters/reports

 

General:

 

Contribute to the administration of office tasks and procedures as directed by the Business Manager which may include but not limited to:

  • Attendance
  • School meals   
  • Trips and Events
  • Monitoring stocks of resources
  • Hospitality

 

 

All duties will be carried out within recognised procedures or guidelines.
The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All full enhanced DBS check will be undertaken before and offer of employment can be confirmed

 

Midday Assistant

Midday Assistant   7.5hrs a week,  Part Time, Term Time only
Job share over the week considered
Salary £22,367 (FTE) £11.59 per hr

        

St Edmundsbury CEVA Primary School Bury St Edmunds, is looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team of Midday Assistants/Opal play leaders. The successful candidate will be required to work directly with the pupils both indoors in the dining hall and outside, creating a safe and stimulating outdoor environment providing social, active and creative play experiences for all. Experience is not essential but there will be an expectation to display energy, good humour, flexibility, and reliability. Inside you will be expected to help pupils with their lunches but outside your role will be to encourage imaginative play and supervise successful fun. Teamwork is essential for this lively, fun position. 

First Aid experience useful but training will be given.

 
This is a part time position, 12 noon to 1.30pm daily during term time only,

This position could be a job share over the week
